Two Distinct Experiences

Our Courses

The Long Mean
7,077 Yards · Par 72
Designer
Ron Garl
Opened
1983

Widely considered one of the best golf course designs in Southwest Florida, The Long Mean pays homage to traditional Scottish course architecture with natural design and strategic play. Course enhancements were made by Kipp Schulties in 2018, with an upcoming 2026 project led by architect Kris Spence to modernize infrastructure and refine design elements. The Long Mean has hosted the 2022 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur, the 2021 Florida Open, and the 2010 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur.

Signature Hole

#18 — A dramatic par 5 finishing hole. Reachable in two for the bold, with water guarding the approach and green. One of the most exciting closing holes in Southwest Florida.

Loch Ness
6,243 Yards · Par 72
Designer
Ron Garl
Opened
1983

Originally opened in 1983 as "The Wee Friendly," the Loch Ness underwent an extensive renovation in 2018 led by architect Kipp Schulties and was renamed to reflect the newly created lakes and inlets. A shot-maker's course that will test every club in your bag, Loch Ness provides scenic views incorporating natural stone and native landscaping. It offers an appropriate challenge for players of all skill levels.

Signature Hole

#9 — The number one handicap hole. A narrow, demanding par 4 with water in play that tests every aspect of your game. Don't let the yardage fool you.

Membership Scorecard

Golf is included in membership

Both Ron Garl courses are part of the Resident Equity dues — not a separate golf initiation on top of the home purchase. Hole-by-hole scorecards are below.

Subdivision HOA dues are extra and vary by neighborhood — Highlands $650/month, Carriedale Gardens $2,250/quarter, Carriedale and Berridale $2,500/quarter, Glen Abbey villas/attached $968/month or single-family $1,130/quarter, St. Andrews $2,393/quarter, The Enclave $260/month, and no additional HOA in the estate-home subdivision. See the cost of living page for that table.

Is Fiddlesticks an equity club or a bundled-golf community?

Both. Every owner must hold a Resident Equity membership — there is no optional social-only path for property owners. The $2,327 monthly dues already include unlimited golf on The Long Mean and Loch Ness. You do not buy a house and then pay a second golf initiation to play. That is the difference from clubs where membership is unbundled from the real estate.

Is the $115,000 joining fee refundable equity?

The $115,000 joining fee is due at closing. $1 equity is refundable on a future sale. It is not a refundable equity certificate you get back when you sell.

Do monthly dues include golf?

Yes. Resident Equity dues of $2,327 per month include golf for two on both championship courses, plus tennis, pickleball, bocce, the fitness center, the cabana pool, 24-hour roving security, common-area maintenance, and Xfinity internet. Guest green fees in season (November–April) are $152 accompanied, $85 for immediate family of a member or renter, and $235 unaccompanied.
